Last two notes over their pounce are that when they roar at you and are under 10ft from you and are level, you have exactly TWO seconds to make like a tree and leave or UV light them. Traps are less than effective in my runs just because of their numbers whenever the alert level increases. You can counter this by dropping a flare if you are cornered or blinding them with UV. If you are full on sprinting they have trouble pouncing you so keep on moving! More keys are they need to be level with you (meaning exactly the same height) and ALSO they have a cooldown so they don't spam it. Next move is their pounce: a devastating 10ft at maximum leap that can not only clear obstacles, but can also catch you from behind if you run out of stamina or stop for any reason. These are very interesting notes I took but they are still not conclusive. Some of the attacks they don't do are the virals' rush attack where they sprint at you and swipe with both hands with immense speed and the volatiles don't do the demolisher object-throw. All of their moves are in the same fashion of a viral and demolisher if not the exact same. They fight very similar to virals and demolishers with their swipe attacks, and can grab you like a biter. Even if there is low ground beneath them, they can still clear a 10ft jump and tackle you! But be warned about a mistake I'm sure everyone has made: Do NOT underestimate their pounce attack. When you are being chased by one and you cannot climb but there are obstacles around you, you need to make sharp corners to get some distance, then throw a UV flare, firecrackers, or even a grenade if you have proper timing, and light 'em up! This is a good way to escape from them. Their massive weakness? Climbing and making advanced jumps AND making corners. This was found out by me being right next to one and using camouflage (on a normal volatile) and the results were just strange! They seemed to aim less on climbing and more on sprinting, and BOY do they sprint! Normal volatile clocks in at about 22 mph, alpha volatile does more than 30 at times and that is when you're on foot. Volatiles enjoy running on the ground more than they do climbing. Another note is that the purple chitin volatiles (which I'll call alpha volatiles) can see through camouflage! Making it literally redundant. If a volatile has pale skin and red blood all over itself and looks like a muscled person without much skin, it will be a normal volatile, but if it happens to have purple-ish chitinous armor on it's shoulders, it is an alpha volatile which can ruin your day always avoid them unless you have a powerful weapon. From what I've found, the volatile is a pack hunter depending on it's unique markings. So, the volatile is just a work of scripting art! They have so much detail in how they move that they need a big group of them to make you less distracted on one. We do encourage original content, however.
